The Professional Learning Institute (PLI) is a professional development initiative for early childhood educators. As an organization, you can become a PLI member, which allows you to send any of your staff to any of our PLI workshops and trainings. Our trainings are interactive and rich with information to help your educators bring back hands-on tools and skills to their classrooms. We are passionate about increasing the number of high-quality childcare programs available in our community and it all starts with our teachers!
Training session topics include:
Creating secure attachment through play
Managing challenging behaviors
Developmentally appropriate practices
CPR and First Aid
Having difficult conversations with parents
Navigating trauma as a teacher
and more!
Specialty trainings are available to any of your staff. We offer at least 12 hours of professional development each year, but average anywhere from 24-30 hours per year. Both in-person and hybrid courses are available!
Membership Fees

Providers with fewer than 20 children enrolled have access to specialty trainings for $99/year. Register here.
Specialty trainings include topics like:
CPR and First Aid certification*
Developmentally appropriate practices
Managing challenging behaviors
Communicating with parents and co-teachers
*certification is an additional $40/person for the certification process

Home providers, Centers, and Ministries with 20 or more children are eligible for specialty trainings provided by BY5.
For $299/year, providers can send any number of employees from their organization for specialty trainings. Register here.

Regional organizations in East Central Indiana are eligible to send any number of their staff to our specialty trainings for $599 per year. Register here.
