Connecting the Community through Books

One of BY5’s goals is to help spread a joyful culture of literacy throughout Delaware County. Supporting a network of Little Free Libraries in Delaware County is one way BY5 accomplishes this. Thanks to grassroots engagement, Little Free Libraries have become a huge success throughout Delaware County.

Small posts throughout the community, Little Free Libraries provide free, donated books to all through a “take one, leave one” system. The libraries extend the availability of books and work to bolster childhood literacy rates throughout Delaware County.

Little Free Libraries is an international non-profit organization created to build community while promoting literacy and the love of reading. The libraries are established and maintained locally by communities throughout the world.

BY5 helps support the growing network of Little Free Libraries in Delaware County, which currently includes 39 libraries, by providing books, building/repair help, and publicity.
